What is scattered seeds worship about?

Our Mission

Scattered Seeds Worship is a place where we can come together, from all places, to grow in life and in faith. It is place to question and to explore. It is a place to find support and comfort. Whether you are just beginning your faith journey or if you are well on your way, we can all join together to foster a place where faith can grow.

Who are Cumberland Presbyterians?

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life’ (Jn 3:16). This is the ‘Gospel in miniature.’ It is a true testimony to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of the world. It has been the testimony of Cumberland Presbyterians from the outset of their origin. “

—Introduction to the 1984 Confession

Four points of distinction at the beginning.

-There are no eternal reprobates

-Christ died not for a part only, but for all humankind.

-That all infants dying in infancy are saved through Christ and the sanctification of the Spirit.

-That the Spirit of God operates on the world in such a manner as to leave all people inexcusable.

What is a worshiping community?

A worshiping community’s purpose is –

to provide a space for those who do not know Jesus Christ,

for those who want to know Jesus Christ

and for those who already know Jesus Christ but need a community with whom to worship.

A worshiping community includes but is not limited to

Proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ

Celebrating the sacraments,

Reading and hearing the scriptures,

Praying,

Singing,

Committing life and resources to God.

As worship is described in the COF 5.14

About Rev. Abby Cole Keller.

I am first and foremost the proud mother of two daughters who are soon to be teenagers! I married my high school sweetheart after a short 8 year courtship. I received my undergraduate degree in Family and Community Services from Berry College (2002). I went on to graduate from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2006 with my Masters in Divinity.

Following graduation, I began working at Greeneville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where I served as an associate pastor for 14 years in varying areas of focus.

After serving in a brick-and-mortar church for over a decade I began to dream of new ministries and new ways to reach people. That dream lead to developing Scattered Seeds Worshiping Community in hopes that people from all over the world can find a way to worship, study and grow together.
