As we begin Lent

Holy God, today we turn our focus to your path to the cross.

As we enter this time of reflection and repentance,

open our hearts and minds to you.

Whisper your calling to us.

Guide us through these days with openness.

Allow us to see the parts of us that are broken…

that are empty…

that are longing…

that are needy…

Help us to mend what needs to be mended,

to fill what needs to be filled,

to satisfy what needs to be satisfy,

and to give what needs to be given.

Help us walk through this season of Lent

looking honestly at ourselves and honestly at you

that we may see where the two meet and move forward

healed, renewed, and strengthened in your love.
