Christmas Eve

Holy God,

we have waited for you.

In the darkness of these days, we have clung to the hope of your light.

We continue to wait for you.

On this night in which the excitement grows,

in which our preparing comes to a head,

in which our joy is abounding,

help us continue to hope until you return again.

Help us to cling to the peace, hope, joy and love that you showered upon us in the gift of your Son Jesus on that wonderful night that we may work more diligently to make a piece of your kingdom shine down upon the Earth—a small reflection of your promised glory to come.

Give us the the light within each us that we may be a light for you—a small sparkle of the glory Christ brought to Earth that night so long ago.

Holy God, as we walk through this Holiday, help us to push aside the fear and worries of these days.

Keep us focused on you and the promise of your return.
