What a Year

The winds of change have blown this year.

The bounds and limits have been tested.

Our way of life has been shaken.

Our limits have been tested.

Our habits and traditions have been brought into question.

Yet you, O God, have stood firm through the tumult and turmoil.

We have been forced to refocus,

may that focus center on you, Holy God.

We have had to let go of so much of what we clung to.

Help us to cling even tighter to you.

We have been challenged in so many ways.

May we now be grounded in our faith even more deeply

so that we may face each new storm with greater strength.

Holy God,

May we learn from the year behind us

and may we grow stronger, more faithful, and more hopeful

as we move forward to face what lies ahead.
