Entering Advent

Holy God,

as we enter this season of Advent, of waiting, of hoping, of expecting,

may our hearts be opened, our minds cleared, and our souls renewed.

As the coldness of winter seeps around us,

may we find warmth in your promises.

As the days darken a little more each day,

may we find light in your hope.

As the isolation and fear of these days grow,

may we find joy in your Holy Word and peace in your comfort.

Help us to wait and hope in your expected coming,

with the joy and peace of a people who believe in you, now and always.
