On the edge

Holy God,

we stand now on the edge of a turning point in your story.

The days of Holy Week that are before us are filled with emotions,

with highs and lows, pain and suffering, loss and renewal.

This year we have all walked through those emotions in new ways.

As we move forward towards Maundy Thursday this year,

open our hearts towards you in new ways.

Open us to reflect on our lives and the life, death and resurrection of Christ in new ways.

May we be open to your pain, as you are open to ours.

May we walk through this sorrow, as you walk through sorrow with us

May we be reminded how you stand with us,

even in our most difficult moments, and may we stand with you.

May we be humbled by your mercy and your grace

as we reflect on the mercy and grace given in the actions of Christ this week.

Open our hearts to you this Holy Week,

that we may see all the good, the bad and the ugly that humanity has to offer

and how your light shines through even the darkness moments, with grace, love and hope.
