Roller Coaster
Life is a roller coaster.
This year has proven that in new ways. There have been ups and downs, twist and turns it feels like almost daily. After over a year, you still never know what is coming. Throughout the past year, dealing with a pandemic, we have had to twist and turn with it all. As the number of cases has risen and fallen and risen again in our communities, we have had to find ways to adjust and adapt, to ride the coaster.
This roller coaster of a life pertains to more than just life in a pandemic though, it extends much further.
Family life, work life, our own personal health, our own faith journeys…everything has ups and downs, twist and turns. One moment life is smooth sailing and then a phone call comes, or a doctor’s appointment, or call to the bosses office, and the world is flipped upside down—the roller coaster of life.
It is easy to focus on those valleys. While there are many dips, there are also many peaks; a promotion at work, the birth of a child, the company of good friends, new adventures and beautiful sights. Sometimes when things seem at the lowest point it is just preparing you for the climb and the wonders at the top.
Friends, life is a roller coaster and it is easy to focus on the valleys, but the heights, wow are they wonderful!
There have been joys in this pandemic, if we slow down long enough to see them.
I hope that as we continue through the ups and downs of life, that you look for the peaks and enjoy the view!
