A prayer in tumult

Holy God,

the upheaval we are seeing shakes us,

but your love is unshakable.

The tumult that is before us is overwhelming.

Your comfort is steadfast.

In the midst of the uneasiness that we are seeing,

may your strength and courage fill us.

May your peace and compassion grow

even in the face of this upheaval

and even in spite of it.

May kindness grow.

May compassion take root.

May love lead us towards a nation that cares for all people.

May our nation move more towards one one another,

away from the violence and hatred that we flashing on our screens.

Move all people towards the peace and decency that you call us to as your children.

May your spirit swoop down to move our nation towards you, in peace and love!
