Peace

A prayer for peace lingers in our hurting hearts,

O God!

We are a country hurt and divided.

Too much blood shed! Too much hurt! Too much pain!

We ache at the thought of hatred that has become an undercurrent for so many.

May your love sweep through the hearts of those who are clinging to such hate that they may be freed from it’s grip.

We feel powerless against the anger that rages in so many.

May your peace replace the rage the face that they many find comfort and peace.

We are living between fear and hope.

May hope win!

In world were life seems unsteady, were fear creeps in too often, and where divide and hatred have been able to festered too long, may your Sprit whoop down. May we see the changes towards love, peace and grace begin to flourish that we may see glimpses of the life you call us to.

As spring’s newness peaks it’s head as the cold winter ground melts away, may the spring of your kingdom peek through the cold hearts of those who are suffering, longing, hurting, and may the brightness of your kingdom grow more and more each day.

Amen
