Holy God, today the plot thickens. We move closer to the end—and the beginning.
On the edge
Open our hearts to you this Holy Week, that we may see all the good, the bad and the ugly that humanity has to offer and how your light shines through even the darkness moments, with grace, love and hope.
Beginning of Holy Week
May we all find in this week something to cling to, something to relate to, something that brings your word and your world to life for us. Breathe in us and through us, O God.
Draw us to you this Holy Week and move us closer to your kingdom.
Sabbath
I know you have a lot of balls in the air that you feel you have to keep moving. I know that there is a lot going on. I know that you have many roles to fill and many tasks to keep an eye on. But I hope that you will take a moment of sabbath, for a moment, for day, for a week, whatever you can manage. In that sabbath may you find healing and may you soak up all the glory and beauty around you.
Beauty in the broken
And so it is God’s most precious creations…us. God sculpted us together in beautiful complex layers. God has added lay after layer to our being, hand painted our story with care and love, added touches of gold leaf here and there, stenciled on layers of life experience, and yes, we have some broken places but they add to our beauty. We are each God’s great work of art and God does not want to simply cover up our broken places. God works with those broken places, knits them into our stories, works around them so that they simply add to our beauty.
Pandemic Parenting
There is nothing easy about parenting in a pandemic.
As if raising little humans was not difficult enough…
For students and teachers
May we have grace with one another and deep understanding. May parents, teachers, aids and students come together to help one another find their way through these days with compassion and creativity.
May everyone receive moments of joy in the midst of all the stress and stain and may we all find rest and renewal when we can.
A prayer for today
Holy God,
Each new morning is a new opportunity.
Grant us the newness that rest within it.
Open our eyes afresh.
Grant us hope anew.
Wake us with restored hope and energy to faces the challenges ahead.
Surround us with your comfort and your peace.
Guide us to bring your light into the world—
May your kindness, your compassion, and your grace be our guiding principles.
May we find comfort in the knowledge that you are our God.
And may this day bring us joy in you.

A brief prayer
Holy God, it has been another long and crazy week.
The world continues to turn in sorrow, fear, and uncertainty.
Give us strength to face each day and each challenge with the courage that you bestow upon us.
Warm our hearts and souls with your comfort and your love.
Grant us peace in the midst of uncertainty.
Help us to cling ever to you, our grounding center,
and may we have a moment of peace with you this day.
